What is CoPilot for Microsoft 365?
CoPilot for Microsoft 365 is an innovative artificial intelligence solution designed to enhance collaboration and productivity within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. It serves as a comprehensive assistant, integrating seamlessly with applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, across user apps on the web, desktop and mobile.
This offering brings the power of generative AI with the GPT-4 Turbo learning model, including an ability to create imagery and soon also model customization to specific topics.
Transacting Copilot for Microsoft 365
Copilot for Microsoft 365 is now available in Microsoft CSP for worldwide customers of all sizes to transact at USD $360 MSRP per user per year1. Customers will need to have licenses derived from one or any combination of the following Microsoft 365 offers as a pre-requisite to purchase Copilot for Microsoft 365:
- Microsoft 365 Business Standard (BS)
- Microsoft 365 Business Premium (BP)
- Microsoft/Office 365 E3 (ME3/OE3)
- Microsoft/Office 365 E5 (ME5/OE5)
Frequently asked questions
1. Does the same Microsoft Partner need to provision the pre-requisite Offers in order to sell CoPilot?
No. A Microsoft Customer is eligible for CoPilot for Microsoft 365 NCE Attach Offer having acquired licenses of the pre-requisite NCE Base Offers from any Microsoft Partner or Program source.
2. What is the maximum number of CoPilot seats that may be provisioned to a Microsoft Customer?
The maximum number of licenses of CoPilot for Microsoft 365 that may exist in a Customer environment, from all Microsoft Partner and Program sources combined, is equal to the sum of active licenses derived from the pre-requisite Offers.
3. What is the maximum number of CoPilot for Microsoft 365 licenses that a Microsoft Partner may order for a Customer at any one time?
The maximum number of licenses that may be ordered at any one time is equal to the sum of all active licenses derived from pre-requisite Offers minus the sum of all active licenses derived from existing CoPilot for Microsoft 365 subscriptions.
4. What happens if a Customer has enough pre-requisite licenses today, but removes some in the future?
Licenses may expire or be reduced at time of renewal. If at any time in the future the total number of pre-requisite licenses falls below the total number of CoPilot for Microsoft 365 licenses, the difference will not be available for assignment to end-users.
This excess amount is eligible for scheduled cancellation per the usual Microsoft Cancellation Policy for Microsoft 365.
If the Customer adds more seats of the pre-requisite offers, then more seats of CoPilot for Microsoft 365 become newly eligible for assignment to end-users.
5. What commitment and billing options will be available for Copilot for Microsoft 365?
CoPilot for Microsoft 365 is available only on an Annual Commitment with full term prepayment.
6. Can Microsoft Partners co-terminate/align a Customer’s Copilot for Microsoft 365 Attach subscription to the same end date as a prerequisite subscription?
Yes, but only to a pre-requisite subscription from the Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) Program, and it must also be of Annual Commitment.
It is not possible to co-term to a Monthly Commitment pre-requisite offer subscription.
7. How will a Microsoft CSP partner be billed for the prepaid annual commit | annual bill for Copilot for Microsoft 365 subscription if the original term is reduced via coterminous setting with an eligible prerequisite?
Microsoft will pro-rate the pre-payment charge to the length of the remaining Committed Term of the chosen Active Subscription of the pre-requisite offer.
Upon Renewal and thereafter, the billing cycle will be for a complete year.
8. Are there any changes to the order taking process that Microsoft CSP will observe?
There are no major changes. However, a new Error Code will be returned to help Microsoft Partners understand that the quantity of CoPilot for Microsoft 365 licenses they are trying to order exceeds the maximum allowance. (i.e. sum of all licenses derived from pre-requisite Offers minus any existing CoPilot for Microsoft 365)
9. Can a Microsoft Partner sell to Qualified Customers?
Yes. While Microsoft is only offering a version to Non-Qualified Commercial Customers, any Qualified Public (Education or Nonprofit) Customer is eligible to acquire CoPilot for Microsoft 365.
10. Is there a Trial Offer?
No. At this time, there is only a regular paid Offer of CoPilot for Microsoft 365.
11. Where is Pricing available?
All Microsoft Direct Billed Partners have access to localized costing and pricing from the Pricing module of their Microsoft Partner Center (MSPC) AAD Tenant. Any user given role-based permissions for the Pricing module may access it.
Pricing is offered in the United States dollar and in other major global currencies.
